Russell will be remembered by his loving wife of 54 years, Minnie Ann (Dickey) Jones children, Vincent Jones, Kenneth Dickey, Teresa Stokes, Sharon Kimbrough thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren sisters, Doris Roper, Helen Bejide and Lina Jones sisters-in-law, Annie and Remy Jones cherished cousin Myrtle Adams and a host of extended family members and friends. He was a loyal and dedicated worker for Knox County Schools, where he retired in 1999. Russell held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those around him. Russell Jones was born Januin Covington, Tennessee to the late Russell and Lina Jones.
